Founder & Principal Designer

Abby is a trailblazing interior design expert with over 22 years of experience transforming spaces across the United States. Renowned for her natural talent and keen eye for detail, Abby makes the design process not just seamless but downright delightful. She pours her heart into understanding each client and their unique vision, crafting stunning, one-of-a-kind spaces.
Equipped with a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University in Interior Design and a minor in Art History, Abby's journey began in the bustling heart of NYC. She quickly made her mark in hospitality, multi-family and residential design, earning her NCIDQ certification along the way. In 2021, after two decades of honing her craft, Abby founded Forbes Design Group—a boutique design firm that's become synonymous with exceptional service and design brilliance. Together with her talented team, she turns dreams into breathtaking realities, ensuring every client revels in the process and the exquisite results.
Outside of owning and operating Forbes Design Group, you’ll find Abby on the tennis court or spending time with her husband, Shane, and six year old daughter, Blake. Abby splits her time between New York City and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and enjoys the diverse array of opportunities the two locations provide.
LAUREN GSCHWIND
Senior Interior Designer

Lauren is an NCIDQ-certified designer specializing in hospitality, multi-family residential, boutique hotels, and private clubs. Her design philosophy strives to create elevated, modern environments that thoughtfully reflect each project's heritage and identity. Her aesthetic blends timeless charm with modern simplicity, grounded in a strong foundation of functionality.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Art History from the Fashion Institute of Technology, a background that deeply informs her creative process. Before joining Forbes Design Group, Lauren was a lead designer at Stonehill Taylor, where she played a key role in high-profile projects, including the Ned's Club, Essex House, and the TWA Hotel.
Lauren is passionate about storytelling through design, bringing spaces to life with meaning, memory, and beauty. Based on Long Island and part-time in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Lauren can be found reading at the beach and spending time with her family and friends.
ALYSSA ROMANO
Senior Interior Designer

Alyssa comes to Forbes Design Group with an impressive resume in the design world. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. Her professional career began in NYC at Perkins Eastman Architects where she was introduced to the hospitality design world with the quintessential New York hotel - The Quin.
Born and raised in New York, Alyssa craved traveling the country. She relocated to southern California to start a career in residential design, working on high end clients’ homes in LA, Newport Beach, Carlsbad & Encinitas specializing in kitchen & bath design. She then moved back to NY to continue her career at Stonehill & Taylor Architects where she was a lead designer working on hospitality projects such as The Bryant and Intercontinental in NYC and the Sophy in Chicago. Working in both California and NY for the past decade she has procured a wide range of projects in her portfolio which has made her design style uniquely diverse.
Alyssa now resides in Florida and is working mainly on multifamily and hospitality projects in New York and Florida. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach with her family, watercolor painting, and doing diy projects around her home.
KATE MCPHERSON
Interior Design Intern

Kate comes to Forbes Design Group as an Interior Design Intern. and she is currently completing her final year of school at West Virginia University, studying Interior Architecture with minors in Strategic Social Media and Event Planning.
When it comes to design, Kate enjoys residential projects where she is afforded the opportunity to create spaces that are functional and enhance the quality of life for the people who live there. With each project, no matter the domain, Kate is excited to see how her creativity can positively impact the space.
When she’s not busy with her design work, you can find Kate getting lost in a book or spending time with her fur baby, Karma.
My husband and I purchased a large home that we didn’t have furniture or a design plan for at all. Neither of us is creative, nor are we designers by any means! We hired Forbes Design Group to help us and was blown away at every step of the process. Abby is the kindest, most compassionate person you’ll ever meet.
She intently listened to our wants and needs and helped us design our dream home. Her design abilities and experience are out of this world.
